Mediterranean Residences

HISTORY

El Molinar, the location of our exclusive residences, is known for its industrial past, where Mallorca’s first gas factory was set up in 1859. It is also known for the market gardens on its seafront, where vegetables and grains were grown to supplement its first inhabitants’ diet, mainly fishermen who interacted with holidaymakers coming from the city.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the main means of transport was the tramway. There were several lines that connected Palma’s city centre to El Molinar.

Better economic and living conditions favoured the area’s industrialisation and encouraged residents to meet in clubs, such as Club Maritimo del Molinar. A new social class emerged, who regarded El Molinar as a recreational area, and came from Palma every weekend to visit the place. As a result, it has become a very attractive place for Palma’s residents since the beginning of the 20th century.

LUXURY TOWNHOUSES AT THE MEDITERRANEAN

Molinar Mar is a new group of 21 residences that blend in with the neighbourhood, due to the selection of noble materials and white and earth tones palettes, which are the island’s highly characteristic features.

These exclusive residences are located on the seafront and they have been designed based on a high standard of comfort. The main appeal is enjoying the sea and the Mediterranean gentle breeze.

International artists, poets and writers have embraced this Bohemian life style as well as its daily customs and traditions.

These exclusive residences are built in a privileged location within the notable fishermen’s neighbourhood, where traditional boats coexist alongside boutique hotels, restaurants and traditional local stores. Yoga lessons and bike rides are an invitation to enjoy the surroundings in every possible way. They are five minutes away from the old town, where the island’s exclusive stores are located, very close to Palma´s historic district.

This residence’s façade is particularly notable for its Mediterranean features and Majorcan architectural tradition, which have endured over generations. It is located in a picturesque fishermen’s neighbourhood, where it blends in with the coast. Hardwood cosy warmth, a patient witness to the passage of time, embraces the structure while dry stone, masterfully laid out, highlights the solid construction.

Noble materials

Stones shades add an elegant touch, as if they were echoing sailors’ old stories whispered by the nearby waves. The unobtrusive black metal windows provide a frame for sea landscapes, which extend beyond the horizon, and invite the world to contemplate the ocean. Sea breeze caresses gently these noble materials and fills the environment with the scent of salt. Each facade’s detail evokes life at sea, thereby honouring fishermen’s neighbourhood roots.

TRADITION AND IDENTITY

Not only is this residence a kind of refuge, but it is also a symbol for belonging to a community marked by tradition and who is passionate for the sea. It is a tangible reminder of beauty and nature force. In addition, it shows us how architecture may act as a bridge between the past and the present, as well as between men and the environment. At this residence façade, history intertwines with everyday life, thereby allowing their residents to connect with the essence of the place they call home.
